Dr. Gerald Johnson, DVM

Opened the clinic in June 2011 Dr. Johnson received his Veterinary Degree from the University of Florida in 1982. He is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Florida Veterinary Medical Association, International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, and American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. He combines his love for pets and their people with his experience in conventional and alternative medicine at his practice.

Dr. Gabrielle Rosario DVM

Dr. Rosario was born and raised in South Florida. She attended the University of Florida for her Bachelor’s degree in 2017. She then earned her degree in veterinary medicine from Louisiana State University in 2023. She is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture through Chi University and is also Fear Free certified. While applying to vet school, Dr. Rosario spent two years working as a veterinary assistant and developed special interests in preventive care, integrative medicine, dermatology, and surgery. In her free time, Dr. Rosario enjoys reading, visiting new restaurants, and spending time with her partner, Marcus and their dogs, Bruno and Snowball.

Michele, Practice Manager
Michele is an experienced Practice Manager at Silverthorn Animal Clinic, where she oversees operations, staff coordination, and client relations to ensure top-tier veterinary care. With a deep passion for animal welfare, she previously founded and served as president of a 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization, demonstrating her commitment to rescuing and rehoming animals in need.

Bringing a wealth of management experience from both office and retail environments, Michele excels in team leadership, operational efficiency, and customer service. Her ability to streamline processes and foster a positive work culture has made her a valuable asset in every role she’s held.

Outside of her professional life, Michele loves traveling and experiencing other countries, embracing new cultures and perspectives. She cherishes spending time with her family and grandchildren and enjoys the companionship of her four beloved dogs. Her passion for animals extends beyond work, making her an advocate for quality veterinary care and animal welfare in the community.

Jenifer, Lead Reproduction Specialist
Jen is a dedicated mom, farmer and seasoned veterinary professional with over 25 years of experience in the veterinary industry, As a proud mother of three children, Jen balances family life with running a bustling farm of 20 goats, 7 horses, 4 dogs and 30 chickens. Her passion for animals extends to competitive rodeos, Boer goat shows and breeding French Bulldogs, gardening and maintaining a small family-owned apiary. Jen attended Lake Erie College where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Equine Reproduction.

Jen has a deep-rooted connection to the community and currently serves as the Goat Superintendent for the Citrus County Fair. She is known for her commitment to excellence and mentorship, both in her personal and professional life. Jen’s expertise in the veterinary field led her to Silverthorn Animal Clinic, where she thrives in an environment that values exceptional medicine and collaborative learning.

With a strong background in equine veterinary medicine and a love for all things animal, Jen’s dedication to the veterinary industry and her family farm continues to inspire those around her.

Christina, Veterinary Technician
Christina is a dedicated Veterinary Technician at Silverthorn Animal Clinic, where she takes pride in caring for pets and ensuring they receive the best possible treatment. A graduate of St. Petersburg College, she is passionate about building relationships with clients and their pets, helping them feel comfortable and supported during their visits.

Outside of work, Christina is a talented musician who enjoys playing guitar, writing songs, and singing. She values spending quality time with her family, friends, and pets. A true Disney enthusiast, she loves visiting Disney World whenever she can. When the weather is nice, she and her husband enjoy exploring nature parks with their kids, embracing the beauty of the outdoors.

Katie, Veterinary Technician
Katie is a skilled Veterinary Technician at Silverthorn Animal Clinic with five years of experience in the veterinary industry. Dedicated to providing compassionate care, she takes pride in ensuring her patients feel as comfortable as possible during their visits. Currently furthering her education at Penn Foster, she is working toward becoming a certified veterinary technician to expand her expertise and continue delivering top-quality care.

Outside of work, Katie is a creative individual who enjoys tattooing and longboarding in her spare time. Her passion for both animal care and artistic expression reflects her well-rounded and dedicated nature.

Brianna, Veterinary Assistant

Brianna is a Certified Veterinary Assistant at Silverthorn Animal Clinic with four years of experience in the veterinary industry. A graduate of Hudson High School, where she earned her CVA certification, Brianna is dedicated to providing thorough and compassionate care to her patients. She excels at communicating with clients, ensuring they understand every aspect of their pet’s visit.

Outside of work, Brianna enjoys spending time at the beach reading. Looking to the future, Brianna plans to attend veterinary school, specializing in animal reproduction and genetics, with the ultimate goal of opening her own practice providing specialized reproductive service

Emily, CVT
Emily is a dedicated Certified Veterinary Technician with eight years of experience in the veterinary field. She graduated from the St. Petersburg College Veterinary Technology Program and takes great pride in keeping pets healthy and happy. Emily is passionate about providing compassionate care to every patient and ensuring their well-being.

In her free time, she enjoys gaming and unwinding with her favorite titles.

Cassy, CVT, Receptionist

June 2013. Cassy grew up in South Carolina where she went to school, earning associates of applied science in Veterinary Technology. In 2012, she packed up and headed for sunny Florida! She came to Silverthorn Animal Clinic and hasn’t looked back since! She enjoys having a career where she can educate pet owners and help them get the best possible care for their babies. Cassy has 6 babies of her own; 5 cats, Pepper, Jaina, Boris, Natasha, and Jezebel, and 1 dog, Eleanor, a shih tzu mix. In her free time, Cassy loves to read and cook (always bringing us delicious baked goods, of course). Although Cassy has considered a specialization within her degree, she has no plans set in stone, and is enjoying living life to the fullest each and every day!

Dakota, Client Service Representative
Dakota has been in the veterinary industry for three years and is passionate about providing exceptional care and service. As a Client Service Representative, Dakota takes pride in making every client and their pet feel loved and valued. Ensuring a welcoming and compassionate experience for both pets and their owners is at the heart of Dakota’s work.

In free time, Dakota enjoys spending time outdoors, boating, and making memories with family. Cooking is a favorite pastime, especially baking. At home, Dakota loves spending time with three dogs and a flock of beloved chickens.
